As the old saying goes, 'Prevention is better than an ounce of cure'; same thing holds true with prostate prevention. In fact, according to studies, if men in the ages of 30 to 40 would only check for the early signs of prostate cancer, he might have a 90% chance of surviving cancer, if ever he would be found to be suffering from it, without any complications, and live a fruitful and healthy life.

A male with a father or a brother who has prostate cancer has twice the chance of developing same disease in his middle to later years. If in his family line, however, a member or members from different families had died or have been suffering from prostate cancer, his likelihood of acquiring the disease has increased, six folds. This matter should not be regarded as a trivial matter; it is a serious one and you should not ignore it.

For males under the high risk category, prostate prevention may be done by submitting himself to a PSA blood test and digital rectal examination way before symptoms may have even developed. High risk males should undergo prostate cancer screening at age 30 while low risk male at age 40. If you were found to be free from prostate cancer, your physician will recommend proper nutrition, exercise and supplements for prostate prevention.  If, unfortunately, early signs of prostate cancer were detected, you'll undergo mild drug therapy to halt the progression of cancer cells.

Doctors will recommend the regular intake of products rich in lycopene, such as tomato sauce, and the addition of isoflavones, such as soy, in the daily diet of a healthy, young or middle-aged male. It is true, prostate prevention begins with a proper diet. In fact, by following the diet and exercise prostate prevention regimen that your doctor has recommended you, you are also lowering down your risk for acquiring other forms of cancer.
